Creation is questioned by all humans, but let’s start by saying that Christian’s are saved by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Period. After being saved you should want live your life as Christlike as you can. We all fall short of living like Jesus, but we are given grace by God through repentance, seeing our sin and turning from it. We are also called by God to be disciples and to create disciples.
The reason I start off by explaining how you are saved is because there are topics such as creation that do not change your salvation. It doesn’t mean that it is not important, but it means that Jesus died for your sins so that whoever BELIEVES in Him will have eternal life. Debating scripture and the meaning of scripture will always make some people feel that the opposing side doesn’t “truly” believe. There are core believes that Christians share. One core believe is that God is the ultimate creator, the beginning and the end, the alpha and omega.
God’s creation is recorded in Genesis. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” -Genesis 1:1. Up to this point we should all agree that God created everything. The debate begins with Christians trying to fit scientific studies that are widely accepted as fact into God’s word without question. On the other hand science is not evil and has been such a blessing from God. We should always go to Him in prayer when we need guidance and wisdom in our beliefs.
So, did God create the world roughly 6,000 years ago or did he create it millions of years ago? That is quite the debate between Christian theologians. Many scientist like to believe that there so much evidence that there is no way the universe is only 6,000 years old, but there are many biblical organizations that have scientist looking to scripture and science to come up with the evidence that the Earth is much younger.
Why does the debate matter? The big bang theory and evolution theory are presented and taught in schools as though they are undisputable. It matters because both of these theories, and many more, were developed to try to deny God as our creator and prove the Bible’s account of history as just an ancient myth. Many questions get left unanswered or they use assumptions to close unexplained scientific gaps. If our children are taught that the Bible is just a book of stories then why would they believe in Christ, His miracles, and His resurrection?
We should encourage everyone, including our children, to study the Bible and look at the world and scientific research through a biblical lens with God at the center. I am not claiming to know everything there is to know about creation, but I ask God for wisdom and follow whatever path he leads me down. Below are a list of my top five resources for learning about creation, specifically young Earth creation. I pray you open your heart and your mind to new biblical based creation research.

Creation.com is an excellent website for news pertaining to God’s creation. CMI is a collection of very well educated people that are working to spread the word of God by researching topics on dinosaurs, archeology, evolution, and much more.
CMI also has a youtube channel that has nearly 18k subscribers with daily content. Click here to go to their Youtube channel. Along with the videos they also have content for parents and kids on their website.

Is Genesis History? has one of the most comprehensive documentaries that is completely free on their YouTube channel and for purchase on their website(isgenesishistory.com). They challenge popular science theories by asking very specific questions to some of the most intelligent scientist in their specialty.

Their YouTube has frequent videos that dive deep into each topic you may have questions on. Recently the have announced a new full length sequel documentary for the Fall 2022.

Finding truth in the Bible is one of the most important parts of understanding creation. Associates for Biblical Research is fascinating because it focuses on the physical evidence that continues to show how the Bible is not just an old story told through generations. It is an account for our history that can be seen in the archaeological finds that happen everyday.
The biblearchaeology.org website is constantly being updated with current biblical archaeology news around the world. It also has a very fascinating YouTube channel that focuses on specific periods of time of the Bible and what evidence we have to show the history of God’s word.

One of the United States’ most popular tourist attractions has become the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. It is a life-size recreation of Noah’s Ark that was created by Answers in Genesis. It is an amazing sight to see and I highly recommend it for anyone, believer or not. AIG also has a museum about 45 minutes north of the Ark Encounter call the Creation Museum. As you guessed it, the Creation Museum is focused on God’s creation as it is recorded in Genesis.
The museum is filled with history, science and biblical data. It has a planetarium that tells you about space and stars from a biblical foundation. A 4D theater gives you an entertaining and immersive look at the first week of God’s creation. The museum also has a beautiful garden, petting zoo, zip-line, and much more.
I know both of these can be quite the trip for most families, but Answers in Genesis has a plethora of information and articles on their website, answersingenesis.org. Beyond their website they have live shows on their Facebook and YouTube channels each week and an app, answers.tv, that has informative documentaries and shows for all ages.
If you jumped all the way down to the bottom of the article to see what the number one source for learning about biblical creation is… it is the Bible! Of course! It is the foundation that all of these other sources use to create documentaries, articles, lessons and entertainment. No matter what these others are listed above, you should always check their information to the Bible. What does the Bible say?

When Jesus spoke of marriage, he said “from the beginning” and then quoted Genesis. He did the same when speaking about creation of man and woman. So when Jesus spoke of Genesis, he spoke of it as history and as an event that actually happened. The Bible is confirmed by Jesus from start to finish so that you can trust the word of God to be your foundation when seeking answers.
